கொழும்பில் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் அலுவலகத்திற்கு முன்பு நந்திக் கொடிகளைப் பறக்க விட்டுச் சைவத்தமிழ்ச் சமூகத்தை மகிழ்ச்சியில் ஆழ்த்தியுள்ளனர் சிவ சேனையின் சிவத்தொண்டர் சிறீந்திரன் சிவத்தொண்டர் செயமாறன் இணைந்து வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறிக்கையில் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
கொழும்பில் சைவக் கோயில்களுக்கு வெளியே நந்திக் கொடிகள் பறப்பது அபூர்வம். சில விழாக்களில் பறந்து இருக்கின்றன.
தீபஒளித் திருநாளையொட்டி மேதகு குடியரசுத் தலைவர் அலுவலகத்திற்கு முன்பு நந்திக் கொடிகளைப் பறக்க விட்ட மேதகு குடியரசுத் தலைவர் இரணில் விக்கிரமசிங்கர் மற்றும் சைவத் தமிழரான மூத்த அமைச்சர் மாண்புமிகு தேவானந்தா இருவருக்கும் நன்றி.
1920களில் ஏ குணசிங்கா தொடக்கம் 2022இல் இன்றைய சரத் வீரசேகரா வரை சிங்கள புத்த இனவெறியை அரசியலுக்கு முன்னெடுத்தோர் நாணிக் குனியும் வகையதே அரசின் நடவடிக்கை.
செயவீர சிங்கை ஆரியச் சக்கரவர்த்தி 1358இலும் குணவீர சிங்கை ஆரியச் சக்கரவர்த்தி 1370இலும் 4ஆம் 5ஆம் புவனேகபாகர்களை விரட்டிக் கம்பளையில் நந்திக் கொடியை நாட்டினர். கல்வெட்டு எழுதினர்.
செண்பகப் பெருமாள் சிங்கக் கொடியை நல்லூரில் ஏற்றினார். 22 ஆண்டுகள் 1461 வரை சிங்கக் கொடி பறந்தது.
1948 தொடக்கம் சிங்கக் கொடி நல்லூரில் பறக்கிறது. அப்பொழுதே நந்திக் கொடியும் இணைய வேண்டும் என்ற சைவத்தமிழர் குரலைச் சிங்கக் கொடியார் மதிக்கவில்லை.
நல்லூரிலிருந்து சிங்கக் கொடியை அகற்ற வேண்டும் என்ற போராட்டம் இன்னும் ஓயவில்லை.
இதற்கிடையில் மாண்புமிகு அமைச்சர் தேவானந்தாவின் முயற்சியால் குடியரசுத் தலைவர் அலுவலகத்தில் தீபஒளித் திருநாள் அன்று, கம்பளைக்கு அப்பால் கொழும்பில், குடியரசுத் தலைவர் அலுவலகத்தில், நந்திக் கொடிகள் பறந்துள்ளன.
சிங்கக் கொடியும் நந்திக்கொடியும் இந்த நாட்டின் இறைமைக் கொடிகள். இவை சரிசமமாகப் பறக்கும் நாள்கள், இலங்கை முழுவதும் பறக்கும் நாள்கள், வெகு தொலைவில் இல்லை.
தீபஒளித் திருநாள் அன்று இவ்வாறு கட்டியம் கூறிய மாண்புமிகு தேவானந்தரும் வாழ்க. மேதகு இரணில் விக்ரமசிங்கரும் வாழ்க.

Saiva Tamils are delighted. Their hearts are filled with joy. Fluttering Nandhi flags unfurled in front of the Sri Lankan President’s office in Colombo is a matter of honour and pride bestowed on the Saiva Tamils of Sri Lanka.
Nandhi flags in Colombo are usually hoisted inside Hindu temples. Occasionally they are hoisted in Saiva Tamil functions.
His Excellency, President Ranil Wickramasinghe and Honourable Minister Devananda are bold enough to open a new chapter in the history of Saiva Tamils in Sri Lanka. We are grateful.
A. E. Gunasingha in the 1920ies basked politically by fanning the flames of Sinhalese Buddhist extremism. From then-on, up to Sarath Weerasekhara (2022), Sinhalese Buddhist chauvinism dominated Sri Lankan politics. Sri Lankan President innovatively extends the hands of friendship and peace to Saiva Tamils shaming those chauvinists.
Jayaveera Singhai Aarya Chakravarthy (1358) and Gunaveera Singhai Aarya Chakravarthy (1370) chased away the 4th and 5th Buvaneka Bahus from Gampola to hoist the Nandhi flag there. A stone inscription has been left behind recording this event.
Shenbaga Perumal hoisted the Lion flag for 22 years continuously up to 1461 in Nallur, Jaffna. From 1948, Lion flag dominates Nallur. During 1948, Saiva Tamil leaders asked for the inclusion of Nandhi in the national flag along with the Lion. Lions refused confluence.
The struggle to remove the Lion only flag from Nallur is continuing.
In the meantime, on Deepavali day this year, beyond Gampola, at Colombo, by the efforts of the Saiva Tamil Minister, Hon. Devananda, Nandhi flags are fluttering at the residence of His Excellency the President of Sri Lanka.
Lion and Nandhi represent sovereignty of the Sri Lankan people. Their confluence represents the confluence of the free will of the people, by the people, for the people of Sri Lanka. Such is the south Asian and global political trend now. The day of such confluence in Sri Lanka is not far away.
